Anise Star

|

An almighty clatter of pots and pans burst from the hatch of the narrowboat as it collided with a huge floating tree
Anise Star rolled helplessly toward the back of the boat and stopped , momentarily, caught in the tangle of ropes. The hull shuddered as the great birds-nest of branches and leaves clawed its way along the long side of the black and red timbers. With that Anise Star disappeared over the back along with the pile of ropes, and for a few moments no-one noticed.
The little furry bear hung from the tangle only inches from the dark swirling water. People shouted, dogs barked and the Jackdaws overhead squawked and rasped as they circled the boat and the tree and the people and the mayhem |
